MIBM students undertook an enriching industrial visit to Sarvaay Solutions, located in Lavale village, Pune, to gain insights into the jaggery manufacturing process using the patented Resource Efficient Jaggery Processing (REJP) technology.

Dr. Vishal Sardeshpande (IIT Bombay), the founder, explained the company’s value-added products and addressed students' queries related to marketing and branding challenges. Dr. Madhavi Sardeshpande (IIT Bombay & IIM Bangalore), co-founder, also interacted with the students, enhancing their understanding of jaggery products.

Prof. Lakshmaiah Botla and Prof. Sonali Kadam (M.Tech, IIT Kharagpur) accompanied the students during the visit to develop a case study on the marketing dilemmas faced by Sarvaay Solutions.

The company showcased its range of value-added products, including Chocolate Jaggery Powder, Cold-Coffee Jaggery Powder, Jaggery Coffee, Jaggery Powder, Jaggery Tea, and Turmeric Jaggery Powder, among others, to broaden the students’ exposure.

While returning, Dr. Sardeshpande also introduced the students to a traditional jaggery factory on the outskirts of Pune, providing them with a comparative understanding of conventional jaggery-making processes.

Founder Director of MIBM, Dr. Saroja Asthana, expressed her pleasure with the students visit, and Executive Director, Dr. Vilas Pharande, appreciated this knowledge-enriching exercise.
